AceCad Software is privately owned by the RDS Group. Mr Barry Thompson (pictured right), is the chairman of the RDS Group and Managing Director of AceCad Software. Assisted by Mr Raj Sharma, Finance Director and Mr Richard Brotherton, Director, AceCad Software encourages a learning and creative culture which ensures that all our employees are valued and that their ideas, opinions and enthusiasm is harnessed. People are AceCad Software's main resource in realizing its ambition - to be the first choice of clients, employees and stakeholders and to be a respected member of society.

Part of the RDS Group (Rig Design Services), AceCad Software has a long and distinguished history. The RDS Group designed (structural, chemical, electrical and instrumentation) and installed over 100 oil rigs and vessels, moving into fabrication in 1980. To impose standards within the industry and simplify the fabrication process, RDS computerized their drafting processes leading to the automatic detailing of rig structures. This revolutionary 3D technology was quickly commercialized by the RDS Group through AceCad Software for steel building structures. With Microsoft SQL Server 2008 and Microsoft .NET technologies our products lead the way and enable our software engineers to develop and deliver new functionality faster than ever before. This approach has necessitated significant inward investment by AceCad Software to ensure that our development is future proofed to both benefit our clients and protect AceCad Software intellectual property.

Approximately 60% of AceCad Software staff are directly involved in software research, development and support, illustrating the commitment AceCad has to our product advancement.

AceCad Software always seeks to take action against those that unlawfully attempt to reproduce versions of our software products.

While we have invested significant time in delivering unrivalled security within our products to protect both our client’s investment and our intellectual property, we acknowledge that with all software products there are those that seek to unlawfully reproduce others work for financial gain.

As a result of advanced security measures within our software we currently do not suffer greatly from this threat, but have come under attack in the past. AceCad Software actively pursued those responsible, through the correct and proper legal channels and secured through the courts appropriate convictions and compensation. We take this matter very seriously indeed and encourage anyone that is aware of any aspect of software piracy or intellectual property theft to contact us immediately.
